Coggeshall Community Swimming Pool is more than just a place to swim – it’s a registered charity too. The pool is run by the community, for the community and provides its services to a number of local schools, as well as individuals. Every booking helps us maintain and reinvest in the pool, so it can continue serving the whole community for years to come.
The charity was founded back in 1980 and the pool has been open since 1987 – nearly 40 years! Over that time, we anticipate approx. 15,000 children have learnt to swim at the pool. The official objective of the CCSA is “To provide a swimming pool at Coggeshall for the advancement of the education of the pupils of local schools and for the benefit of all inhabitants of the area in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the quality of life”. As well as the charity’s official objective, the Trustees aim to provide the opportunity for swimming in Coggeshall, at an affordable price for local residents.
We’re proud to offer a warm, clean and friendly swimming pool for people of all ages and abilities. The pool is heated to approx. 31°. It is 12.5m long x 6m wide, with ladders at both the shallow and deep end. From Family-Fun and General-Swim Sessions to structured lessons and Adult-Only Swims, there’s something for everyone. Our welcoming environment makes it easy to enjoy the water, stay active and be part of the community.
