Description

Chalkney Woods is partly owned by Essex County Council and also the Forestry Commission. They have great walking routes but can get very muddy so we recommend wellies if it has rained even a little bit in the previous week!

In the Spring, the bluebells come out and are stunning. The woodland floor has huge swathes of blue everywhere you look.

There is a free car park you can use off Tey Road that takes you to the edge of the woods. This is just off a corner of the road so take it slow to ensure you don’t miss it!
