Come and join us on Saturday June 14th at 4pm in the beautiful St. Peter ad Vincula church in Coggeshall, for a summer concert of delightful part-songs from the Victorian era.
We will be performing works by Haydn, inspired by the amateur music making scene in London and then tracing that tradition through the 19th century with popular works by Mendelssohn, Sterndale Bennett, Pearsall, Mcfarren and Barnby to the better-known Sullivan, Stanford, Elgar, Parry and Coleridge-Taylor. We will also be performing rarely heard pieces by Mary Alice Smith, Ciro Pinsuti and Ernest Farrar. All in all, a feast of beautiful lyrical works to raise the spirits on a summer afternoon.
There will be an interval with prosecco, cordial and cake.
